The Writer Behind the Words

The Writer Behind the Words: Steps to Success in the Writing Life

This easy-to-read handbook is something you can return to over and over again. It is a great book that every writer needs to have in their collection. It is an excellent book that addresses the often overlooked 'emotional' needs of every writer – and is a great comfort book.

The author focus is 'off the beaten path' – she doesn't focus on the "how to write" or "how to submit and get published" type of topics. Instead she focuses more on providing 'support' to writers, beginner or experienced, to help them keep going when things get tough, or nothing seems to be happening. Some of the topics would include:

The business of writing

How to move your writing career forward

Surviving & Thriving in the writing life

Developing a writing career

Getting started as a Writer

Dealing with setbacks

Taking care of yourself – the writer

Knowing the business – making yourself aware of the publishing industry and the pitfalls to avoid

The Sapphire Pendant

After reading this book I went out and bought a family heirloom I intend to pass on to my two daughters.
This intriguing novel about love and family, it is filled with drama, relationships and above all, it's about a lasting love.

I loved this book because of the wonderful love story, and I really enjoyed the West Indian influence placed throughout.

The Sapphire Pendant is a powerful contemporary love story.
